One Crew Starts the Outpost, Another Brings the Supplies

Work recorded: August 6, 2026

An earlier Frontier Logistics build showing an Outpost Site with materials at 3/3 and work at 0/3
In this earlier build, a supporting Crew has supplied Stone 1 and Wood 2 to the Outpost Site. Materials read 3/3, work remains 0/3, and the initiating Crew B must Continue; the interface shown here has since changed.

Leaving the intention in the world

A Crew is a player-directed expedition unit, and its Field Pack is the small cargo inventory it carries. An Expedition Outpost is a small field base with a four-Cell Cache for storing cargo. Before this development step, one Crew had to carry the complete Stone 1 and Wood 2 requirement before it could even begin establishing an Outpost.

In this earlier build, after the first Headquarters was operating, the player could select a Crew at the frontier and choose an observed, compatible adjacent Cell—a neighboring hex on the map. Approving the action left an unfinished Outpost Site in the world even when that Crew's Field Pack was empty. The Site kept its location, initiating Crew, missing materials and remaining work visible instead of collapsing the whole decision into one inventory check.

Supply the Site, then finish the work

The player could bring a second Crew to the Site with Stone 1 and Wood 2 and use one explicit supply action. That moved only the required ordinary cargo into the Site. It did not transfer ownership of the unfinished construction.

Once the image's material count reaches 3/3, work is still 0/3. The initiating Crew must explicitly Continue and complete work 3 before the Site becomes an Expedition Outpost with its four-Cell Cache. The player can therefore separate finding the position from hauling the materials, while still deciding which Crew remains responsible for the unfinished job.

An earlier development record

This frame records the game on 2026-08-06. The current development build still separates Site initiation, support supply and initiating-Crew work, but the visible workspace and the wider settlement order have changed since this image: Expedition Outposts now lead into Headquarters rather than requiring one first.
